Who Are We?

We Are Christ's Ambassadors

We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors. as though God were making His appeal through us. we implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.” -2 Corinthians 5:20

Our movement of campus ministries finds its identity in this passage. We believe that God longs to have each and every person be reconciled to Himself, and that the way that re-connection happens is through the representation of His people. Each of us who takes on the identity of “Christian” becomes Christ’s ambassador – or christou apostoloi  in Greek – which we shorten to the first letters “Chi” and “Alpha” or XA. Our name is our constant reminder that each of us has a real part to play in this world. We each can carry Him within us to bring Him closer to the people around us.

Core Values

It is our desire to introduce UWO students to a relationship with God through...
01.
Worship

Worship is a foundational part of our lives as Christians and out relationship with the Lord. We seek to not only live out a life of worship through musical worship but in everything we do. When we worship God with our mind, heart, soul, and strength, our lives will be transformed.

02.
Prayer

Prayer is powerful! It connects us in our relationship with God as we hear from Him. It also helps us to create space for Him to help us in our daily lives. We believe in the power of prayer as God brings healing, miracles, answers, and hope to our lives.

03.
Fellowship

We are not meant to live life for God on our own. Fellowship is a big part ot why we exist as chi Alpha on campus. Our Monday nights large group services are an opportunity to gather all together to give glory to God as well as be able to live life together. We also host weekly small groups and regular events for extended times of community!

04.
Discipleship

Discipleship is essential to our communit. Through mentorship and accountability, Chi Alpha is a group where people grow in their faith and increase their desire to know God. When someone is discipled, hope and desire is instilled in them to share with another person to then continue creating disciples for the Kingdom of God.

Missions

As Christ followers, we are called to be on mission for the Kingdom of God. Our staff team serves as missionaries on campus and we pray that our students catch on to the vision of loving others well. We provide opportunities during a student's time on campus to take part in a missions trip where they get a first hand experience at being the hands and feet of Christ.
